I don’t want to come off as too negative, but we all know that we are living under uncertain times right now. Although some countries have corona virus under control, others don’t. And even those who have it under control (Beijing has had a second wave surge, after being “free” of corona virus for more than 50 days), there is a chance that there will be a second wave worldwide. It’s super important that we keep our immune system in check by eating nutritious foods and practicing sports, and one of the easiest one to do at home is yoga. There are numerous benefits of doing yoga, which contribute to a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Not only are there a variety of classes to choose from, but also you can literally practice their classes anywhere. I personally like to take my iPhone outside, breathe fresh air (when I’m not on the city), and practice one of their classes. Yes, they have an app that is super easy to use that you can download on apple store or google play store. You can even download their classes on your device in case you know that you will not have a good internet connection, or if any at all. Also do keep in mind that you may need to try a few classes to see what you prefer and what teacher resonates with you. I think this can apply to anything in life, so it’s best to try not to judge their website on the first video you watch (myself included, I had to watch a couple to find a class and teacher that I liked). Luckily, there are over 1,600 classes and over 50 teachers to choose from.

It is not free to have full access to all of YogaDownload’s classes, BUT you do have three options:

1. You may create an account directly on their website and pay USD$1 for a two weeks trial. Should you decide to purchase their membership, check out Membership Options (as little as $10/month)

2. You may purchase individual classes instead, just so you have an idea, a 25 minutes class can be about USD$4.99.

3. You can also download their app on a mobile device, ROKU (there has been a few complaints in the past, so if any issues, it’s best to contact their support team), and on game consoles here, as they also offer access to all their classes for a limited amount of time.

I would hate to purchase something and then find out that it’s just not for me, so trying it out before you purchase their membership is an amazing advantage. And actually they do have a few free classes, even if you do not decide to join their membership.

Due to COVID-19, it’s the best time to consider taking online yoga classes. You can just roll out of bed and get to it! Besides, the prices are quite reasonable as well.

What Do You Need To Practice Yoga At Home?


Honestly, to practice yoga at home, the most important factors are that you are wearing comfortable clothing and that you have a yoga mat (even if you don’t have one, just make sure that your floor is not slippery).

    I started doing my workouts with my kids when COVID-19 took away our regular activities. To my surprise we have a lot of fun. I haven’t tried yoga yet but this seems like a great place to try it out. The kids can certainly do well with both the release of energy and the practice to focus and relax. Wish us luck… lol.

      Hi, yoga is definitely great for kids to focus their energy elsewhere 🙂 My nephew is almost 2 years old, and he practices yoga everyday with his mom. I recommend to do yoga either first thing in the morning or early evening before dinner!

    I have done some yoga online before.  It really does help your body to feel and move better.  However, it has been a year or two.  The idea of a beginner class is interesting and probably where my skill level is.  Have you used Yoga DownLoad at the beginner level or do you use a higher level of the program?   As we all need to be aware and make sure we are staying safe, it is easy to ignore exercise while in the house so much.  It is too hot now to even enjoy the park walks.  Our hot humid weather has us hiding anyway, so working out at home is preferred.

    As I have arthritis, when I went to yoga class it was necessary to alter a few of the routines.  Are there some alternate moves and stretches offered in the classes you have been in?  I am assuming that these are prerecorded lessons that one has access to, is this correct?  Thanks for sharing the information.
